Details of Trademark Renewal

  • A registered trademark is a priceless asset so a company should not give it away easily. Sometimes it takes up to 3 years to get a trademark registered legally and it becomes valid for 10 years. If a company fails to renew it, the protection over the trademark lapses and the trademark might be abandoned. To avoid it, you must file for trademark renewal before 6 months from the last date of trademark expiration or after 6 months from the date of trademark expiration. The latter is subject to late fees.
