What GST Registration?

GST Registration is the process of getting all the companies or individuals selling goods or services registered under GST. It is mandatory for every business with an annual turnover of more than 40/20 lakhs to get registered under this taxation law. Businesses with over 40 lakhs of turnover are required to register under Good And Service Tax as a notable taxable person.

What is GSTIN?

Whenever a business or individual successfully register under GST, they are assigned a unique number called GSTIN(Good and Services Tax Identification Number). It is a 15 alphanumeric digits identification number that is generated by the government after successful registration of GST. 

In this 15 alphanumeric number, 

  • first two digits comprise of your state code
  • next 10 digits represent your PAN number
  • next to one digit is the serial number of GST registered in a state 
  • and lastly, the last two digits are random.

  • GSTIN is linked to the PAN of the business. Hence, PAN is required to obtain GST certificate.

  • Identity and Address Proof of Promoters
